Archaeologists recently discovered the earliest button found in China so far in Lintong County. According to research, this button belongs to the Qi family culture and has a history of more than 4,600 years. The button is 2.5 cm in diameter and 1 cm thick in the middle. The edges are thinner with two buttonhole-like holes. The whole button is muddy orange-yellow pottery with earthy yellow color and rough surface.
This ceramic button unearthed in Lintong is the only one in the country. This discovery confirms that the ancestors began to sew clothes to hide from the cold more than 4,000 years ago. It is extremely valuable for studying the lives of the ancestors.
